Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist

Job description / Role

The Master Data Management Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of master data within the organization's databases and systems. He/She will collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and consistent data entry, perform data analysis to identify trends and discrepancies, and implement data quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:
• Create, update, and maintain master data records in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
• Create and maintain item masters within the ERP system including coding and classification.
• Enter and maintain pricing within the ERP system.
• Creation and maintenance of vendor and customer records.
• Conduct regular audits of master data to identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and duplications.
• Develop and implement data quality standards, processes, and best practices to improve data accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in data migration and integration projects, ensuring smooth transition and accuracy of data transferred.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to master data management.
• Analyze database reports to identify items to be phased out or obsoleted.
• Understanding of supply chain concepts and maintenance of MRP inputs at the item level.
• Support of the sales, operations, and procurement teams to ensure proper system functioning of parts within and ERP environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in master data management or related roles.
• Experience with data quality improvement initiatives and process optimization.
• Proficiency in data management tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify insights.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
