Material Inspector

Job description / Role

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Material Inspector to join our team in Dubai, UAE. The Material Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all materials used in our projects meet the required quality standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction materials and the ability to conduct thorough inspections to maintain quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of incoming construction materials to ensure they meet the specified quality and safety standards
- Perform visual and physical tests on materials such as concrete, steel, asphalt, and aggregates
- Document and report any non-conforming materials and work with suppliers to address quality issues
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure that materials meet project requirements and specifications
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections and testing results
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and processes
- Provide guidance and support to construction teams regarding proper handling and use of materials

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Material Inspector or similar role in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing methods, and quality control processes
- Certification in material testing and inspection is preferred
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings related to construction materials
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or irregularities in materials
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers, project teams, and other stakeholders
- Familiarity with relevant safety and quality standards and regulations
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions regarding material quality and compliance
