Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This position will lead a team of people responsible for ordering parts from over 300 allied & non-allied sources. $20m of open Purchase Orders at any given time.

Fully accountable and responsible for Flawless New Vehicles Launches and Parts Availability for all New Vehicles and Recent Models

Plays a direct and critical role in designing and executing plans that affect customer service levels such as parts availability, stock value and stock turns

Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase orders processing and order placement with suppliers +/-$200m of purchase orders per year with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) & General Motors Allied Business units.
- Expedite and follow-up purchases to ensure on-time delivery and tracking on suppliers’ order response time and quality performance.
- Close monitoring of stock movement in the SAP system and plan delivery of materials, in coordination with the Logistics department, either via Sea or Air, ensuring minimum quantities of stock are maintained to avoid stock out situations.
- Responsible for tracking the entire material pipeline and total lead time taken from date of purchase order placement until arrival of material and stock are available in system for sales allocations.
- Work collaboratively with Aftersales Field Teams to understand any unusual customers’ requirements and demands and work closely with the Inventory Forecasting team to ensure appropriate adjustments are provided in the Forecasting System which drives the Weekly Replenishment Order Recommendations.
- Liaise with Data Management to ensure specific materials data and settings e.g. forecastable vs unforecastable parts, supersessions, part change notices are duly created and updated which has an impact in material controls.
- Plan, Monitor and Report on Parts Readiness for all New Vehicle Launches.
- Major & New, Mid-Cycle Major (MCM), Mid-Cycle Powertrain (MCP) and Life Cycle Improvement (LCI)
- GMI Scorecard on Readiness and Fill rates
- Coordinate with stakeholders, as part of the Project Readiness process on parts availability prior to Vehicle at Dealers (VAD).
- Issue bulletins and process orders for dealers for vehicle launches
- Provide demand planning analysis on Recent models and monitor demand and availability
- Participation in any initiatives to improve Material Management Processes which may require SAP System/Program Enhancements where involvement in Business Requirement inputs and User Application Testing is essential.
- Other tasks as deemed appropriate to accomplish the job requirements

Provide weekly analysis of;
- Top Uncompleted Customer Order (UCO) & all Platform Fast Moving Parts.
- Zero On Hand Parts to ensure 95%+ availability will be achieved.
- Emergency planning and target ordering

Requirements

- Preferable, Degree in Business – Engineering, Logistics/Materials Management or Economics.
- Acceptable, 5-10 Years of experience in the automotive industry preferably in Engineering or Mechanical

Knowledge and Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of Automotive products is a distinctive advantage
- Experience of working with SAP is an added advantage
- Personal computing experience – MS Excel and Access Database
- Working knowledge of materials procedures and systems
- Knowledge of Material Planning and purchasing requirements are essential.
