Job description / Role
- Create sales, submittals, and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare site layout drawings, installation method statements/scopes of work and bills of quantity for on-going projects
- Review project specifications to determine equipment compliance, materials of construction and other specified requirements.
- Perform hydraulic calculations to size piping and ducting
- Familiarity with the workings and theory of pumps and fans
- Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) to delineate equipment included in a project
- Create Piping and Instrumentation (P&ID) diagrams
- Prepare material submittals and O&M Manuals; proficient in reviewing/interpreting Engineer specifications, prepare compliant statements for equipment, compile submittals
- Basic knowledge of civil design engineering, interacting with civil/structural engineers and able to read/review drawings
- FAT test for equipment, including GRP tanks, ducts and other GRP products at fabricator’s facilities
- Communicate with equipment suppliers regarding equipment design and serviceability issues
- Create requests for quotation for equipment and services
- Perform equipment inspections at job site
- Communicate with engineers and customers regarding project issues
- Lead project meetings, assign tasks and post meeting notes
- Identify, develop project schedules, and track completion of tasks required to execute individual and concurrent projects
- Work with team to keep projects on schedule and meet critical deadlines
- Travel to job sites in the MENA region
- May assign other assignments for which you are deemed capable
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited College/University plus a minimum of five years’ experience in project engineering
- Proficiency and experience creating models using SolidWorks
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office software, including MS Project
- Have strong organizational, documentation, and writing skills
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Have a professional aptitude & positive “can do” attitude
- Have good command of the English language
- Able to reside in the UAE in the vicinity of Sharjah
- Valid UAE Driver’s License
