Job description / Role
JOB PURPOSE:
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of MEP and associated tendering work.
- Management of the MEP/IT/AV and Security project execution cycle in accordance with the designated programme and budget parameters aligned with the company’s ISO Management System procedures and processes.
- Liaising direct with the Client/Consultants/Local Authorities/Landlords on MEP/IT/AV and Security project related matters.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Management and responsibility of MEP project works inclusive of project programming, project risk management, subcontractor delivery and project performance management
- Monitor and manage weekly MEP site progress with monthly reporting to key stakeholders
- Management and supervision of project resource requirement allocation
- Ensure strict compliance to the company ISO and HSE management processes and procedures
- Management and accountability for MEP Department financial performance
- Promote innovative ways to add value and reduce costs
- Manage, develop and maintain effective relationships with the professional consultancy teams and clients
- Build and promote the company, it values and its brand
- Identify customer design requirements in a formal briefing document
- Overview and approve MEP, IT, AV & Security design drawings, details, calculations and specifications
- Preparation of the BOQ for the project related MEP/IT/AV and Security quantities and costs
- Provide value engineering solutions if required
- Provide required samples and technical literature for approval
- Liaise with the Client, Consultants, Sub-contractors at a management level and with Local Authorities if required.
- Attend meetings on site as required
- Prepare the material requisition (tools, materials, spare parts, etc.)
- Support Procurement Manager finalizing MEP sub-contracts
- Support the Project Manager in order to maximize production output through efficient site organization
Requirements
- BS/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Knowledgeable of MS Office and MS Projects
- Must have UAE Driving Licence
- Minimum 10 years in MEP related industry in respect to managing mechanical and electrical construction with at least five years in a senior management capacity with emphasis on construction, contract management, bid and tender management, risk management, commercial and legal management, operational planning/ implementation and staff management
- Knowledge on UAE regulatory practices and rules on MEP & AV/IT/Security works
IMPACT ON MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
- Timely preparation of technical document submittals to clients and regulatory bodies
- Optimization of resources in terms of costs
