Job description / Role
• Preparing new motor quotations and renewal quotations for corporate and individual clients.
• Study the risk; analyze the data, collecting information to proceed for risk acceptance and rejection.
• Selecting appropriate and competitive premiums based on possible risk, information and judgment. Ensure that premiums are competitive and specify conditions to be imposed on different types of policies.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of certificates, policies and endorsements in compliance with the prescribed policies and guidelines of the company.
• Negotiate and define the specific terms of insurance policies with policyholders or brokers.
• Keep detailed and accurate records of policies underwritten and decisions made.
• Preparation of MIS reports for Management [Motor Claims Loss Ratio, Policies Due for Renewal, Production Report (Direct and through Brokers), whenever required.
Requirements
An experienced Motor Underwriter with at least 3 years experience in the same field within the UAE motor insurance sector. Must have knowledge of insurance policies with the ability to relate policy provisions to loss exposures. Must be a quick thinker with good judgment and analytical skills and possesses strong written, verbal communication and negotiation skills. Preference shall be given to holders of insurance certifications (i.e. CII and the like)
