New Venture Geoscientist for an Oil and Gas Company in Sharjah

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Work within an integrated team who are responsible for all exploration and development activities of the company
• Produce maps, cross-sections and other graphical elements to support field development, exploration and business development activities
• Assist in compiling farm out documentation and presentations for technical committee and senior management presentations
• Take responsibility for the company’s GIS database, currently built within QGIS. Extend the project and update as new information is received
• Rescale and convert maps to different coordinate systems as required
• Identify I.T. solutions or process enhancements that can improve efficiency and quality of outputs

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
• Open to any nationality
• Male/Female, 45 years old and below
• Open to overseas candidates

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor of Engineering/Science or higher in Petroleum Engineering/Geology/Geophysics
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the same role
• Practical experience in handling E and P data as well as familiarity to concepts of Petroleum/Geology and Geophysics is desirable
• Basic experience in exporting and manipulating data for visual purposes within Petrel and Kingdom would be advantageous, but not required
• Computer skills (MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, QGIS and Adobe Illustrator)
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of new ventures/business development activities within the petroleum industry
• Excellent presentation skills; analytical and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to continual learning
