Operations Manager - Catering Company

Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the catering facility and has a deep passion for customer service, well relation with employees and vendors and most especially food. He is a problem-solver with strong work ethic and leadership skills. He is an experienced leader who enjoys organizing and catering different corporate and private events.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage operations with passion, integrity, and knowledge while promoting the culture and values of the company.
- Identify and delegate responsibilities to catering staff to ensure objectives are met and excellent service is consistently achieved
- Plan menus in consultation with chefs
- Provide coaching and feedback to staff and assess performance on and ongoing basis
- Consistently review catering operations and staff to identify any problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement
- Maintain company standards of sales growth
- Ensure to meet or exceed standards in food quality, safety, cleanliness, and timeliness
- Consistently monitor and analyze product and labor costs to remain within goals and work out a strategy for improvement if necessary
- Prepare list of topics to discuss and take good notes during weekly meeting with the top management
- Organize and monitor catering drop-off and on-site services
- Ensure proper and safe delivery/distribution of catered products
- Attend meetings with clients
- Create a positive guest experience by delivering a high level of service and ensuring all staff engage guests to understand their needs and exceed expectations
- Follow-up with clients to get feedback
- Develop and implement creative solutions to areas of improvement
- Attend catering fairs from time to time to meet new vendors and keep up to date on the latest food and cooking supply trends.
- Compare the prices and quality offered from different suppliers and make sure to get the best service for money to maximize profit
- Overseeing the operational requirements and demands of the department, direct involvement with Service Delivery Line Supervisor
- Conducting staff induction and orientation tours

Requirements

- Minimum of bachelor's degree in business or another field relevant to the position
- Minimum 4 years of experience in hospitality industry within UAE/GCC
- Must be UAE driving license holder.
- Able to write and speak in Arabic is a plus
- Experience in negotiating and working with suppliers
- Knowledge of food, food hygiene (including hazard analysis and critical control points) and food preparation
- Fine dining experience required
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively
- Knowledge of food cuisines in MENA region
- Good knowledge on hygiene and sanitation practice according to GHP and HACCP.
- Ability to work under pressure

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Non-standard hours of work
- Requires work outside the office environment
- Use of a personal vehicle may be required
