Employment: Full Time

Lead the express operations, driving productivity and resource optimisation to meet operational goals ensuring that quality, safety and regulatory standards and procedures are not compromised.

Job Outline:

- Identify, manage and implement operational strategies, policies and procedures to attain service quality and revenue objectives of SkyCargo global express operations. This includes first mile and final mile operations, network & line haul operations along with customs clearance operations globally.
- Manage top line express operational activities and enable the right people with the right skills to be assigned at the right time to accomplish the work that needs to be done
- Provide leadership and direction to the express operations team in areas such as performance management, upskilling and recognizing development needs within the team
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal & external departments to positively enable department objectives
- Evaluate team performance against established goals and objectives and provide meaningful and constructive feedback to individuals in accordance with the Emirates performance management principles
- Manage conduct and conflict within the team in line with the relevant policies and procedures ensuring consistency and objectivity
- Lead monthly team meetings based around investigation, audits, and corrective actions to ensure safety, security and regulatory standards are applied without compromise
- Ensure all safety incidents and accidents are investigated effectively, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations
- Prepare the daily hub operations and express hub service level reports and recommend changes to maintain and continuously improve express Service Delivery
- Recommend changes to Standard Operating Procedures as appropriate and encourage teams to participate in continuous improvement initiatives and new ways of doing things
- Ensure all deviations are handled, recorded, and escalated as per controlled documents (QMS and Work Instructions) and ensure at all times, that the handling of express shipments demonstrate compliance with internal and external requirements
- Provide operational policy guidelines to express operations staff to ensure uniformity of courier and express operations standards. Investigate, address and resolve deviations from policy, ensuring the relevant stakeholders are informed
- Ensure that the GHA and other service suppliers/partners are fully briefed regarding Emirates requirements and service levels. Monitor and oversee the service provided by all partners GHA to ensure it is in line with EK standards, and where there are shortcomings, to address these appropriately and in a timely manner
- To develop & implement revenue generating strategies for express related operational activities, such as import & export services, in accordance with Company policies and SkyCargo's overall commercial orientation
- Manage various administrative functions and interact with governmental authorities for licensing and compliance with legal procedures and documentation for the movement for all types of express services.

Qualifications

- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) :

Knowledge and Skills

- A qualification in logistics and operations management or similar would be advantageous.
- Educated to Degree (or equivalent) with at least 8 years experience in a courier and express Cargo operations environment, including at least 5 years at a supervisory/management level.
- Knowledge of global express operations, the local area cargo environment including customs formalities
- Proven ability to lead and develop staff
- PC based skills including Microsoft Word/ Excel/ E-mail
- Fluency in English and the language of the country you are working is essential
