About the Job

Initiate and coordinate the communication of emergencies with the relevant parties, on time, to respond for emergencies.
Monitor and operate the emergency response, control room, or control panel systems to ensure comprehensive monitoring of assets, and activities.

Key Accountabilities

Emergency Response
- Anticipate the all types of alarms for emergencies; system-generated, calls, REFMAC, etc. and respond in line with the approved procedures.
- Use the proper communication channel for different types of emergency, in line with the procedures and in-charge commander; radio, public address system, SMS messaging, etc.
- Communicate and alert all emergency calls to commander in-charge, fire & rescue team, shift and plant in charge, in line with emergency and crisis management procedures.
- Coordinate the communication between the fire & rescue team, on-scene or not, to ensure proper control and respond to emergencies in place.
- Locate and communicate the exact location of the incident or fire, and timely update the on-scene team of the status of fire or emergencies, to enable effective firefighting and rescue activities.

Monitoring
- Operate and monitor the fire control panels; i.e. computerised PLC, displays, applications, optical fibre fire, gas network, and interface systems in the emergency response room or centre.
- Monitor the performance of and availability of the systems; TETRA radio system, IP telephone, call back, hot line, and other communication systems to ensure readiness.
- Monitor the facilities and building management systems; CCTV, BMS, etc. to ensure fiscal monitoring of the respective area alarms.
- Monitor the protection systems; i.e. fire alarm devices, emergency plant-wide siren system (EPWS), protection systems, supervisory control system, etc. to ensure comprehensive motoring.
- Report all repeated critical deviations in the monitoring system to the supervisor and takes immediate remedial corrective actions.
- Maintain log of all alarms; i.e. fire alarms, false fire alarm, fault, supervisory alarms, etc. for the record management.

Key Accountabilities

Equipment Performance
- Report any maintenance requests of relevant systems; i.e. fire & gas system, distinguishing system, etc. and coordinate with maintenance for all types of maintenance.
- Test and inspect the operating condition of the relevant tools and equipment in the control room, and communication systems to ensure readiness.
- Monitor and test the of communication equipment in the respective facilities to ensure availability and reliability for all types of facilities and operations; i.e. admin buildings, marine, projects, etc.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- Technical Diploma in relevant field or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field.
- At least 4 years of experience in Fire, Rescue, Crisis Management or Technical Occupations
- Technical knowledge of fire control room operation
