OWS Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

Job description / Role

Role Summary:

The On Wing Support Manufacturing Engineering Specialist will be responsible for engineering associated with the manufacturing (disassembly, service, and assembly) process and industrialization / standardization of the shop's repair processes (workscope and workstation preparedness) along with certifying Technicians. This position requires a developed foundation of functional skills and knowledge of new and relevant technologies.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, the OWS Manufacturing Engineer will :
- Identify, lead, and execute shop and engine cost reduction projects (bullet train, labor productivity, material cost, etc.)
- Improve Engine Delivery & TAT and defect reduction with technical solutions
- Support site Quality team with functional, on-the-job training development and instruction
- Mentor Engineering-related subjects as they pertain to Technicians' band progression
- Translate design, SB, AD, and manual requirements into repair processes including training, tooling, equipment, and workstation setup and Stage Sheets
- Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, and equipment
- Organize, track, acquire / order, and own tooling through and at the site
- Develop new, and maintain existing, workstations or equivalent tooling options
- This includes shop supplies and chemical management systems
- Spearhead facilities improvements and projects
- Support Quality activities related to defect investigations and corrective action implementation from a technical perspective
- Some field work may be required

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environment (Including familiarity with common overhaul documentation (aircraft maintenance manuals, Engines manuals, SBs, etc.)
