An opportunity has arisen for a bilingual (Arabic & English) paralegal to assist the Employment practice.

A paralegal's job purpose is to support Associates, Senior Associates and Partners. A paralegal performs administrative and clerical tasks as well as legal research, maintains case files and drafts legal documents.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Expected to assist associates of all levels on research of laws and judgments on matters such as redundancy programmes, changing terms and conditions, transfer of employment, disciplinary, dismissal and grievance procedures, settlement negotiations and severance agreements
- Perform legal research, checking facts, gathering client information and evidence and completing paperwork before the relevant labour authorities, labour courts and other courts for employment litigation (matters such as termination and bonus claims, to protecting trade secrets, confidential information and business interests).
- As required review Arabic and English translations or provide summaries of Arabic documents.
- Responsible to liaise and finalise with marketing on new laws and regulation articles to be published in 'Law Update'.

Requirements

Skills and experience
- Experience of working in an office environment
- Outstanding organisation, interpersonal and administrative skills
- Ability to conduct legal research such as researches on relevant statues, rulings, precedents etc.
- Excellent telephone, writing and proofreading skills
- Ability to handle individuals swiftly, decisively and rationally
- Ability to express creative ideas clearly, persuasively, effectively and accurately
- Ability to compose reports and correspondence
- Good knowledge of legal practice, employment laws is an advantage
- Considerable knowledge of research and analysis methods
- Extensive knowledge of software packages and analysis methods

Qualification / Education / Training
- Law Degree from an accredited institution
- Paralegal certificate is an advantage
- Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience
- Minimum 3 years of administrative experience supporting corporate office in administrative capacity
- High level of proficiency in word processing, typewriting, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
