Job description / Role
Wood is currently recruiting for a PMC Senior Civil and Structural Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and enhance the discipline through implementation of best practice in people management, systems, and business processes
- Ensure technical accuracy and integrity of the design engineering carried out by the discipline
- Provide staff resources with appropriate skills for the project and business requirements
- Manage the PMC Civil team objectives and budget
- Participate during constructability reviews
- Act as a discipline focal point for all technical matters and act as an overall technical focal point on assigned projects
- Review designs for facilities and their associated infrastructure
- Cooperate with other disciplines to ensure the timely realization of competitive, achievable and serviceable solutions, including their Production Information Documentation
- Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make adaptations and modifications to solve technical problems that arise
- Contribute to and participate in formal and informal design reviews and the development of engineering changes
- Execute the design process to realize the project, product and program plans
- Create designs that meet the specifications within the constraints given in the project plan
- Generate adequate Product Documentation to qualify, integrate, produce, and test product
- Collect and analyze information to report timely required information to different users and management
- Provide regular status reporting to applicable management and departments to enable them to take required action
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in major oil / gas projects in similar position or lead / principal civil engineer with engineering contractor / PMC organization
- Recent experience in a similar role for a large-scale oil and gas project
- Adequate knowledge of all international codes, standards and other construction practices to be utilized during EPC phases of project execution
- Additional experience with Middle East projects is preferable
