Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Participate, as and when required, in the development of the programme and project management policies and procedures framework that will allow the function to effectively meet its objectives and targets, in line with overall IT policies and procedures, and the Groups strategy and direction
- Review and report the effectiveness of such policies and procedures framework, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Determine project scope, requirements, benefits, stakeholders and deliverables that support business goals, in collaboration with senior management/ stakeholders and according to PMO standards
- Ensure that key project management deliverables are understood and planned for during initiation and mobilization phases
- Establish project management processes and performance standards, communicate the same to internal and external project leads, provide ongoing assurance and regularly monitor / measure project benchmarks/ key performance indicators to ensure that project success criteria and benefits are being achieved
- Embed and support regular project progress reporting cycles for specific projects whilst taking responsibility for the quality of data submissions and management information produced
- Ensure that a change management strategy is in place for each project in concurrence with relevant business and IT stakeholders to ensure they are sufficiently engaged to support the achievement of relevant project benefits
- Maintain programme and project-level risks, issues, actions and decisions (RAID), support effective mitigation of same, and escalate any high priority concerns to the PMO Lead in a timely fashion
- Review, in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager, Project plans and monitor delivery of contracted IT services executed by external vendor, to ensure that the projects meet the required quality and standards set by the Group
- Lead knowledge sharing sessions across projects including end of stage lessons learned and work with the management to identify appropriate responses
- Ensure that team members are acquainted with the changing situation and the developments of the company

Requirements

- Graduate or Post Graduate Degree in a Business, Information Technology or Computer Science discipline.
- Alternatively a tertiary qualification with a long and progressive industry experience in project management or business consulting.
- Accredited portfolio, programme or project management qualification(s) such as MoP, PRINCE2, MSP or PMP.
- Minimum 7 years experience in significant portfolio, programme or project management roles.
- Proven track record of project delivery and/or running or maintaining a PMO for transformation programmes.
- Practical experience in the areas of business case development, benefits realisation and change management.
- Knowledge of IT systems, technology and applications; IT infrastructure, hardware, database, service management and networking.
- Excellent people management and communication skills with the ability to lead and facilitate group meetings with senior stakeholders and external vendors.
- Ability to engage, lead and motivate teams.
- Ability to manage multiple parallel projects.
