Power Production Technician Lead

Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Power Production Technician Lead Purpose and Scope: Responsible for the operation, maintenance and inspection of power production equipment. Essential Responsibilities: - 1. Examines machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble. - 2. Dismantles or partly dismantles machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts. - 3. Replaces broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock; orders the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sends the machine to a machine shop for major repairs; prepares written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops. - 4. Reassemble machines and make all necessary adjustments for operation. - 5. Oversees and ensures all assigned and required tasks are performed during shift. Minimum Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent training/experience and a valid driver's license. - A minimum of seven (7) years of full-time verifiable experience required. - Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. - Shall be qualified as Power Production journeyman or master technicians with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the maintenance and operation of commercial grade generators ranging in size from 5 to 2500 kilowatts is not required but strongly desired. - Excluded from this classification are workers whose primary duties involve setting up or adjusting machines. - Must have the ability to use hand and power tools and related types of equipment peculiar to the trade. - Must have the ability to read and follow schematics, blueprints and other specifications. - Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. - Position may require travel. - Must be a US citizen.
