Job description / Role
• Researching competitive information regarding new item/program introductions into the market and provide feedback on the items that have appeared at the market place
• Confirm the sales potential and credibility of new item introduction proposals
• Identifying new category and product development opportunities for a number of categories within our Private Brand portfolio
• Analysing the market opportunity and creating appropriate category development plans
• Defining the range and assortment and managing the assortment within the given category
• Identifying suitable manufacturers and negotiating supply agreements and pricing
• Establish packaging requirements – unit size, piece counts, case/product dimensions, and determine product lunch timeline and initial packing order quantities
• Developing pricing strategies
• Developing and bringing new products to market
• Providing product training and sales assistance to managers for customer presentations
• Managing and improving existing business relationships to improve profitability and efficiency
• Designing and implementing new processes to help scale our business
• Translating brand positioning concepts into distinctive product assortments on shelf
Requirements
• 4+ years in FMCG product management, category management and/or project management is required
• Bachelor’s degree in either a technical or business discipline
• Proficiency in Excel
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation skills
