Job description / Role
Our client, a real estate development company in Abu Dhabi, UAE are seeking to appoint a Director Of Procurement
Job Purpose:
The Director, Procurement will be responsible developing, implementing and maintaining strategic procurement objectives for the company. He / She will also keep good relations with the companies’ suppliers and perform the required audits and evaluations to ensure that they are delivering the agreed objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Release and manage RFP/RFQ.
• Develop procurement strategy, policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with the strategy, policies and procedures.
• Manage supplier’s performance review, in terms of quality, cost, delivery, etc.
• Conduct suppliers risk management studies (supply crisis, shortage).
• Manage distressed suppliers and develop appropriate action plans.
• Contribute to benchmark analysis regarding suppliers in the market.
• Analyze and understand the mixture of the commercial offers.
• Contribute to the supplier shortlisting process as a proposal to Procurement Head.
• Suggest negotiation techniques to company’s directors and managers to operate within the budget.
• Establish and support the structuring of the procurement activity.
• Propose cost reductions based on proposals reviews.
• Manage to control cost and suppliers’ invoices in collaboration with Finance.
• Ensure suppliers’ payments are paid on time in the right amounts.
• Keep track price variations with the associated reasons
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction or related field required
• 15 to 20 years of experience in construction procurement with a minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and vendor negotiation
• Certification in Purchasing Management (CPM) highly preferred
• Proficiency in Arabic is a must
• Previous GCC experience is a plus
