Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:
Operate as a subject matter expert to improve media visibility and positive tonality. Integrate the PR and Communications department strategy with MEO priorities. Design annual PR plans and activities in line with Marketing plans. Work cross-functionally with MEO departments to make sure the brands are communicated effectively through the tease, launch and sustain phases.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position are broken down as follows: Local (applicable to the MEO only), Regional (applicable to GMI) and Global (applicable across GM-defined regions)

Local (100% of allocated time)
- Integrate overall PR plans with GM MEO business priorities
- Develop an annual PR plan for Cadillac and GMC brands and nameplates that includes media ride and drive events, story and PRL calendars, media test drives, strategic spread of the PRLs in different media channels (dailies, lifestyle, motoring, etc.), brand ambassadors and sponsorships
- Monitor the media coverage and tonality progress on a monthly basis and benchmark against targets. Amend plans during the course of the year to make sure targets are achieved
- Manage both brands budget on a monthly basis
- Media ride and drive event execution that includes message development, press pack development, media requests for material and imagery, work with marketing and subject matter experts on message delivery.
- Build and maintain special relationships with the various media and attend to their needs.
- Develop and compile a yearly comprehensive press pack for the full line up (Arabic, English and Photography / Video) in time for the showroom arrival.
- Other tasks as deemed appropriate to accomplish the job requirements

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience:
- Thorough knowledge of the automotive industry and MEO business priorities.
- Understand the media industry.
- Messaging and product communications.

Education:
- Bachelors degree in mass communications, marketing or journalism.

Skills:
- Excellent written and oral skills in English. Strong command of Arabic is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of MEO organization and media including building relationships.
- Strong project management skills and ability to be self-directed.
- Strong presentation skills.
- High level of attention to details.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks that are difference in nature to ensure deadlines are met.
