Job description / Role
Our client is a leading European power utility company in the world who are currently seeking a Project Director for a prestigious project in UAE.
The project is a large-scale LED retrofit street lighting turnkey project with more than 30,000 points in the UAE. The scope of the contract includes design survey, procurement, construction, operation, maintenance and stakeholder management over a 10 years period.
Project Summary
With a solid operational and managerial experience and having ideally actively participated in building the present offer, the project manager represents the Project Company vis-à-vis both the Client (the Municipality) and the investor (the holding company financing the project). As such, he/she would be responsible for the proper management of financial, legal and operational risks to preserve the operation’s profitability for the investor and to ensure the service quality vis-à-vis the client.
He/She has to have the qualification, the experience and the decision-making power required to organize, ensure and control the planned or realized services, and to cope with exceptional events. He/She ensures the quality and safety procedures are consistently applied. He/She makes the link between the various internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- 15 to 20 years overall engineering and general management experience in implementation network, preferably with strong international exposure
- > 10 years of experience in project/contract management across the Middle East region, ideally public-private partnerships
- > 5 years’ experience specifically in street lighting construction management
- English (required) / Arabic (strong advantage)
