Project Fabrication Manager

Job description / Role

Project Fabrication Manager (Middle East and Asia) has responsibility in handling Projects efficiently and effectively from order acceptance till finalization.
Leads, monitors and develops the Operations Team, that includes Project Planning, Design & Drafting, Supply Chain Management, Fabrication & Quality and Field Services functions for the construction, refurbishment and retrofitting of equipment and systems for the MFAS (Machine Filtration & Acoustic systems) Aftermarket – Power & Industrial Division and the manufacturing and installation for OEM Business (Original Equipment Manufacturer), providing local capability in the Middle East and Asia.      

The Manufacturing, Installation and Quality Departments consist of a team of Fabrication & Installation supervisors who, in turn, will locate and actively manage sub-contracted labor and fabricators in the Middle East and South East Asia to ensure timely execution of the projects and ensure all quality and safety procedures are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:
• Leads, directs and controls the Projects day-to-day activities within the Operations, including Project Planning, Design & Drafting, Supply Chain Management, Fabrication & Quality and Field Services functions
• Planning, coordinating and controlling project execution in accordance with Client contractual requirements, within time and cost constraints, and in compliance with HSE and Quality procedures
• Conducting proper contract analysis and reviewing contractual documents
• Ensuring the issue of project reports
• Cross-functional communication and task monitoring
• Handling client complaints or concerns •
• Negotiates with internal and external resources to manage the day-to-day relationship with the client.
• Responsible for the kick-off, management and closeout of projects
• Sets deadlines and summarizes progress of project
• Takes initiative and removes obstacles critical to the success of the project
• Ensures that the Projects are executed on time and within the estimated cost and put in place the necessary actions to achieve costs savings to maximize the profitability, liaising with the internal and external stakeholders, providing them with the necessary analysis and reports.
• Formulate operating objectives in cost reduction, quality and process improvement.
• Provide personal direction in the resolution of current operating problems of a critical nature, to maintain maximum continuity of the Project at desired quality, costs, schedule and customer service levels.
• Establish relationship with the sales organization to ensure customer voice is included in the project process.
• Provide procurement, manufacturing and technical support to the Sales and Applications functions to secure and maximize the bid to sales ratio.
• Contribute to streamline and to handle the challenges from the handover of a project, until the project completion

Requirements

Knowledge/Experience:  
• 10+ years’ experience in Project & Fabrication Supply Chain Management
• Industry relevant metal working, fabrication, quality and site experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, design, testing and implementation.
• Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities.
• Have leadership and supervisory skills.
• Fluent English speaking (continual interaction with UK teams).
