Project Finance - Associate Director

Our client, a highly respected independent renewable energy, private equity investment company has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director - Project Finance to join their team in Dubai.

Position Title: Senior Associate - Project Finance

Team: Investment Management Location: Dubai, UAE

JOB PURPOSE:
• To provide support to the Project Finance Management Team to enable the achievement of quality and commercially
• solid project financing structures. Will assist on general transactions as needed, providing support to the Transaction
• Leader in identifying, analysing and monitoring renewable energy investments. Individuals are typically involved in
• conducting deal analysis and due diligence. Responsibilities may involve screening proposed deals based on established
• investment criteria. Individuals at this level are still developing the techniques and skills necessary to manage renewable energy investments.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Senior Associate - Project Finance reports to the Head of Investments and Project Finance

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Project Finance
• Assist the Project Finance Management Team to supervise the junior resources to develop the debt financial models
• Provide support for due diligence work streams
• Prepare presentations for lenders
• Support the financing documentation negotiations
• Assist with financing process management & interaction with the lenders
• In coordination with the technical, environmental and legal teams report to the lenders post financial close and support with waiver requests

General Support
• Conduct financial modelling and projections as directed by Investment Management and Development teams
• Remain abreast of relevant economic and political events impacting on and influencing the Renewable Energy sector
• Post investment monitoring of assets
• Support transaction timeline, due diligence and data collection and analysis efforts
• Research and respond to client / investor inquiries as directed
• Participate and manage internal and external meetings with junior and mid-level stakeholders
• Interpret and develop basic legal documentation and commercial contracts

Requirements

Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or Law

EXPERIENCE:
• 7 to 9 years’ experience post qualification in relevant field
• Previous experience in Project Financing, inclusive of closing deals with lenders
• Previous experience with Development Financial Institutions such as EBRD & IFC is desirable
• Previous experience in Investment Management, Private Equity, Power & Infrastructure fields is desirable

• Solid understanding of commercial and funding structures and asset management
• Familiar with Financing Documentation
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Negotiation skills
• Thorough understanding of Renewable Energy market, technologies, players and key industry drivers
