Project Manager - Engineering

Job description / Role

With a global reputation for innovation in the design of military and police training facilities, this international organisation requires a Project Manager with a strong technical engineering background to be based in their Abu Dhabi office. The Project Manager will primarily be responsible for the management, performance and completion of single or multiple projects involving the design, manufacture, construction and commissioning of both modular and traditional training facilities. The Project Manager will as a secondary role will be involved in business development activities including identify new opportunities, developing capture plans, creating project estimates and writing proposals. The Project Manager should be comfortable engaging and reporting at a senior level both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering, manufacturing and construction projects
• Monitor, control, report on all aspects of project performance and risk
• Communicate with and support small engineering /design teams
• Provide technical support and guidance to the engineering / design team
• Manage the procurement process locally in UAE.
• Assist with the production of contractual documents
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE policies and procedures
• Develop new and expand existing relationships with customers
• Identify and develop new business opportunities
• Respond to RFPs & RFIs
• Prepare cost estimates
• Write proposal documents

Requirements

Essential:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience engaged in multi-disciplinary engineering, manufacturing and construction projects
• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in a customer facing role
• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience managing project financial performance
• Currently have, or be able to secure, UAE Driving Licence and car
• Currently have, or be able to secure, a UAE Resident Visa
• Be able to secure entry to the EU and USA for short term trips

Desirable:
• Incorporated or Chartered Status (ICE, IStructE, CIBSE, CIOB or equivalent)
• Post graduate qualification in business or project management
• AutoCAD management
• Arabic speaking
