QA QC Coordinator - Structural Civil

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled QA QC Coordinator with expertise in structural civil engineering to join our construction team in UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of all structural civil construction activities and materials, as well as coordinating with various teams to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.

Quality Management System
• Manage the QA QC activities at site as per the Project Quality Plan - Implementation of Project Quality Plan in project.
• Day to day attendance/surveillance to site activities. Monitor and control subcontractor’s quality of work, support subcontractors in achieving the Project Quality requirements. Conduct site walks /meetings with Execution team/sub-contractors/consultants and provide technical guidance/solutions to sub-contractors for the challenges during the execution of the project.
• Ensure live Power BI dash boards for all QA QC deliverables are developed/maintained to analyze/present the status, prepare the trends including submittals, inspections, tests, deficiencies identified & NCRs.
• Coordinate Lead/Manage all meetings related to QAQC.

Submittals Management
• Establish Electronic Document management system (EDMS) and manage all submittals reviews ( both internal and by consultant) through EDMS
• Establish a comprehensive schedule of all planned material submittals based on the project schedule. Coordinate with team, subcontractors and Consultants - to ensure the progress of submittals are as per schedule
• Review /Ensure the Submittals and ITPs from subcontractors are in accordance with project specifications/contract requirements.
• Review subcontractor’s prequalification/Conduct Organize factory visit to verify the capability/ compliance to project requirements and provide recommendation.

QA QC Inspections and Tests
• Develop /Establish detailed inspection schedule for the Project inline with Project Program, identifying total number of inspections activity wise ( Primavera Activity Ids) each day/week/month, covering all activities. Ensure the updating the schedule incoordination with Operation team/Sub contractors, Monitor the actual inspection against planned inspections.
• Ensure/Establish Digital Platform ( Electronic work flow) for work inspection, Material Inspection and Snags. Ensure all Fields in Electronic workflow are filled by the relevant team member ( Sub contractors, ALEC team and Consultants/Client, including Post Inspection notes.)
• Ensure the Firestopping activities are Performed as per specifications/drawing requirement
• Coordinate with Project team/Subcontractors and Ensure work inspections & material inspections are conducted as per the approved ITP.
• Coordinate and Conduct subcontractor factory/fabrication yard inspections to verify the compliance with project requirements and communicate the observations to project team.
• Ensure the tests as per the approved ITP/Project specification are conducted, in coordination with Laboratory, consultant, sub-contractor and ALEC execution team. Analyze test data, identify and report defect trends to project team.
• Close Site Instructions/non-conformance reports from Consultant within 14 days of receipt in coordination with subcontractor, execution team and consultant. Conduct internal verification/inspections for the implementation / effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions for the site NCRs and deficiencies identified by the QA QC Team.

Project Closeout
• Coordinate with Subcontractors for closeout documentation/deliverables including identification of closeout requirements, preparation, submission and approval from consultant
• Coordinate with Project team, subcontractors and Consultants and ensure the snagging /de-snagging are as per project schedule.

Training
• Provide/coordinate training on materials, workmanship to execution team and /QA QC team

Reporting
• Report to management regarding the poor performance of subcontractor in quality or any other concerns, which needs to be taken contractually.
• All material submittals, comments or NCR’s from consultants which will entail variation.
• Use Power BI dashboards to analyze/present the status of QA QC activities, prepare the trends including submittals, inspections, tests, deficiencies identified & NCRs and communicate to Project team/Consultants
• Ensure / Maintain Daily Event Diary updated every day in ALEC Server
• Monitor the progress of works against LOB

Salary:
AED 16,000 to 21,500 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; professional certification in quality management is a plus.
• Proven experience in quality control and assurance within the construction industry, with a focus on structural civil engineering.
• Expert knowledge in high-rise structures and infrastructure development
• Very good knowledge in high end finishes, specifically, 5star hotel finishes
• Have experience in handing over Projects
• Strong understanding of structural civil construction methods, materials, and testing procedures.
• Familiarity with relevant quality and safety standards, such as ISO 9001, ASTM, ASCE, and OSHA.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex quality issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of quality and compliance.
• Proficiency in quality management software and tools, as well as MS Office applications.
