Job description / Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Rescuer to join our team in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals participating in water sports activities. As a Qualified Rescuer, you will need to possess strong swimming and lifesaving skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. This role requires a deep understanding of water safety protocols and the ability to act swiftly and decisively in emergency situations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol designated water sports areas to identify and respond to potential safety hazards
- Provide immediate assistance and rescue interventions to individuals in distress in the water
- Administer first aid and CPR as needed, and coordinate with emergency medical services when necessary
- Educate water sports participants on safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries
- Maintain and inspect rescue equipment, ensuring all gear is in optimal condition and ready for use at all times
- Collaborate with other team members and lifeguards to coordinate rescue efforts and ensure a cohesive approach to water safety
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years
- Valid certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid
- Proven experience as a lifeguard or qualified rescuer in a water sports environment
- Strong swimming and rescue abilities, with the capacity to handle challenging water conditions and emergencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with water sports participants and team members
- Ability to remain composed and make quick, informed decisions in high-stress situations
- In-depth knowledge of water safety protocols and rescue techniques
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform water rescues and patrols for extended periods
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, as water sports activities may occur at any time
