Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager.

- Performing risk, value management and cost control.
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Verify bills of quantities submitted by consultants / contractors.
- Maintaining awareness of various building contracts in current use.
- Preparing and analyzing costing for tenders.
- Measurement of quantities from drawings at various design stages.
- Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks.
- Verifying and arranging payments for Contractor’s payment certificates.
- Review and monitor project cash flow forecasts.
- Review and monitor project cost to completion.
- Identify, track, assess and report change orders / variations in a timely manner.
- Manage input from other disciplines (commercial, legal, insurance, planning, design and construction)
- Incorporate implications of programming requirements, methodology, phasing etc.
- Maintaining appropriate records and documenting significant events..
- Tracking, reviewing, assessing and reporting of variations arising out of the projects.

Requirements

- University Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Extensive knowledge of Construction / market rates.
- Excellent Measurement and Quantification skills.
- Contract construction / technical skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Minimum of 8 years Quantity Surveying experience.
- Experience in Subcontract analysis.
- Evidence of successfully working both in a team environment and independently.
