Quantity Surveyor – British Led Developer – Abu Dhabi

If you are a quantity surveyor with 10 years post graduate experience and looking for something different where you can really impact on the exciting future of a young business, then read on!

I am working with the CEO of an Abu Dhabi investment backed, British led private developer – someone I have known for more than 8 years and is a driven, gifted entrepreneur who has a background in high level banking and finance. He has established a business with a dynamic edge and a clear strategy to develop some new construction projects in the Emirate.

He is now looking to expand his corporate team with the appointment of an individual who can fulfill the sole role of company Quantity Surveyor.

As the main quantity surveyor in the team, you will work closely with other management, such as the construction manager, the design manager, the in-house counsel and the CEO himself, leading on pre- and post- contract responsibilities for the group. You will link in with the main contractor team and the design team, so you need to be someone who can handle themselves!

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to work in a “new company” environment and doesn’t mind rolling up sleeves and getting stuck in.

I don’t like pasting job descriptions, but just so you know, these are the areas that you will handle:

Pre-Contract

- Take off quantities / bill of quantities
- Prepare and issue sub-contract & material supply enquiries and assessment of quotations
- Pricing of all subcontract / contract packages
- Complete tender documents for submission / review
- Prepare specifications and proposals.
- Post tender negotiations.

Post Contract

- Maintain contract documentation alongside the Legal Department and advise on pre-tender and post contract liaison with Main Contractor
- Preparation and issue of contractual letters to Main Contractor with the Legal department.
- Post contract liaison with Main Contractor and the design team.
- Carry out take offs for material procurement.
- Sub-contract negotiation in consultation with the Legal Department.
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations.
- Site measurement / Manage and value variations.
- Agreement / certification of Main Contractor interim valuations and final account.

This is a permanent role based in Abu Dhabi with a lively, driven team of professionals who want to find someone of a similar attitude and skill who can be part of their journey.

Salary:
AED 35,000 to 40,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Additional benefits: bonus

Requirements

This role is not for someone who wants to be another cog in the corporate wheel – for this to be the right working environment for you, you need to be adaptable, flexible and with a real desire to be part of something.

The package on offer for this permanent position in Abu Dhabi is AED40k per month to cover basic salary, accommodation and transportation. There are the additional benefits such as a discretionary bonus scheme that we can discuss.
