Job description / Role
Regional Business Development Manager - Africa, Middle East & India
JOB OBJECTIVE: To secure new business, manage client engagements and day-to-day operations in order to maintain a portfolio of profitable business and ensure excellent service delivery to the client base.
This role will be responsible for managing all end-to-end business processes for the Group in the region. The Regional Business Development Manager will be directly accountable for ensuring smooth sales plans & execution; new business development; client engagement and growth within the region.
The responsibilities would include mapping of key clients and / prospective business traffic. Mapping of inter-Africa business opportunities. Exploring statistical information and build a solid data base of volume potential for the region. Liaise with key decisions makers and build a network of solid client relationships within the region. Identify new clients / markets, drive business development, marketing initiatives and implement sales plans to achieve targets including understanding the customer needs, recommending solutions specific to the customer requirements and ensuring excellent customer service delivery. The position will be diligent in sales analysis of the sales data to further sales targets. This is a regional role and will be directly reporting to the Area Director – Africa, Middle East & India.
Requirements
You are a seasoned sales and business development professional with experience in the International freight forwarding or chemical logistics industry and a solid understanding of industrial bulk logistics, warehousing and supply chain solutions. You have solid experience in sales & operations management including budgeting, sales planning and strong innovative sales solutions. You are passionate about growing the business and are often described as an enthusiastic and an energetic person with a sense of urgency. You are good at drawing insights from data and understand the importance of reporting. You are excellent in networking and building collaborative partnerships both with your clients and colleagues.
Experience and knowledge of international freight and / or logistics plus commodities personal care and / or chemical industries
Good understanding of warehouse solutions
A detailed knowledge of the bulk liquid industry with knowledge of flexitanks advantageous / preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
(In order of priority) – English, French, Arabic
