Regional Director

Job description / Role

On behalf of our client a European economic development agency that is based in the UAE we are looking to recruit a Regional Director. Reporting to the Head of Territory you will be responsible for developing marketing strategies for the target markets of UAE, Oman and Bahrain to promote the country's capability, lead and manage a team of Business Development Managers, proactively identifying relevant business opportunities for said country's companies through market intelligence, connections and research and to the promote said country to key decision makers, develop C level relationships with targeted companies, stakeholders and influencers in the region and enable to company to engage with them. build strong relationships with the British Embassy, UK Department for International Trade ( DIT) and other key stakeholders, oversee and manage in market support for company visits, trade missions, events and exhibitions, co-ordinate VIP visit programmes to the target market with direction from Head Of Territory and oversee the arrangements of the necessary meetings, logistics and protocols, engage effectively with colleagues and stakeholders based in the UK to provide market sector briefings and ensure activity in the market aligns with corporate plans and prepare and manage annual budgets.

Requirements

The successful candidate must be degree educated, have a minimum of 5 years recent business development experience in the Gulf including experience of undertaking market research, analysing market data, preparing reports, presenting information and advice to clients, have a sound knowledge of the current business opportunities across the key business sectors and business environment in the GCC including issues and solutions relating to doing business and exporting to GCC countries
