Job description / Role
This is a new role that is responsible for setting up and managing a distributor network aimed at the floor care retail market. This role requires managing and maintaining current business with existing distributors and expanding the distributor network and launching the Company brand in new markets including, but not limited to, Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, Nigeria and Kenya.
Within this supporting role to the General Manager, MEA there is also frequent contact with internal departments (located in The Netherlands and the United States), like Sales Support and Trade Marketing, internal stakeholders, (potential) distribution partners and (indirect) retail accounts.
The role requires a development and investigation mentality combined with commercial awareness and a target driven mind set.
This hands-on tactical role with the leading floor care brand will be challenging but rewarding.
• Manage current distribution partners.
• Set up distributor partnerships in new countries.
• Manage channel partners (TV Shopping, Household Appliance Stores, Department Stores and Internet Platforms); cooperate, coordinate, advise and direct.
• Sell products/range; create sell through.
Major duties, accountabilities and responsibilities:
• Plan and achieve ambitious sales targets
• Implement regional strategy; adapt and customize the proposition locally where needed
• Identify and develop sales opportunities in target countries for expansion
• Prepare customer proposals and presentations
• Engage and maintain customer relationships
• Manage sales channels and distributors
• Manage product portfolio with distributors, resellers and retailers
• Price management with P&L responsibility
• Plan and execute sales activities with distributors/retailers
• Ensure consistent primary sales and sell through per account
• Liaise with management, Sales Support and Trade Marketing to ensure timely delivery, the right products, strategic direction, the correct message and more
• Provide forecasts, management reports and other reports as needed
Requirements
• Bachelor degree or above, preferably in business, communications or economics
• 4 to 7 years of experience in International (preferably in the Middle East & Africa region) sales, preferably in appliances, consumer electronics or household products
• Experience with both retail organizations and distributors; 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier
• Experience with portfolio management, listing creations and range building
• Knowledge of price setting, margin negotiations and general financial skills
SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic. French would be an advantage
• Proficient PC / MS Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
