Reliability Engineer

Job description / Role

JOB PURPOSE

To supervise and administrate contractual preventive/predictive, corrective, troubleshooting and emergency maintenance, through contractors, for mechanical assets in accordance to agreed plans and in line with quality & HSE standards, established assets management policies and procedures, to deliver outcomes that effectively meet quantitative and qualitative objectives, contractual requirements, and in compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015; ISO 14001:2015, and OHSAS 18001:2007.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Identify systems, sub-systems, equipment and conditions, that could adversely impact plant operation, through the use of reliability methodologies as applicable. Methodologies include, but are not limited to, bad actor analysis, failure statistical analysis, criticality analysis, failure modes and effect analysis, and root cause analysis.
• Identify the required mitigation actions for business risks.
• Support the decision making process by evaluating the cost-benefit of any proposed solution, based on economic and technical criteria, using techniques such as; life cycle cost analysis, decision tree analysis, spare part optimization, preventive and predictive maintenance frequency optimization.
• Manage and report on, all outputs from reliability engineering analysis.
• Lead by example to maintain and improve high safety standards in accordance to QHSE procedures. Responsibility to enroll in safety tours and submit observation cards related to HSE frequently.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required by the Reliability Team Leader.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Academic & Professional Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical or control engineering
• Master’s degree in reliability engineering preferred

Related Experience

• 6-10 years of power and desalination plant operation and maintenance work experience, with 4-6 years of proven working experience in reliability engineering roles.
• Equipment installation, operations management, maintenance and troubleshooting experience, and safety measures is an advantage.
