Job Description
A research assistant position is available at the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, College of Information Technology, UAE University, UAE. The candidate must have obtained an MSc degree in computer science, data science, or any other related field. The position is available as part of a research project, on the application of Edge AI in smart cities, funded by the UAEU UPAR Grant. The duration of the project is 4 years. The successful candidate must register for his Ph.D. at UAEU in the fall of 2021.
The duration of the initial contract, before starting the Ph.D., is 5 months. Duties will include literature review, data collection, data analysis, installation and configuration of software tools, and developing and training AI modes. Relevant skills include: machine learning, Internet of things, data management, collection, and visualization, development and training of AI models, software development using various programming languages including Java, Python, C++, and more. The earliest joining date is 1-May-2020.

Minimum Qualification
The candidate for this position should have a master degree in Computer Science, or Communications Engineering, or any related field
Preferred Qualification
Programming skill, Machine learning skill, Scientific paper writing skill.
