Job description / Role
The department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering is seeking for a candidate for Research Assistant position to work on a major project dealing with Water Desalination and CO2 Capture. The work involves setting up an experimental system, carrying out a parametric study and thermodynamic and kinetic analysis for the utilization of new industrial wastes in Carbon Capture along with Brine Desalination. The appointment package will include: a monthly salary.
Requirements
Minimum Qualification
The suitable candidate must have: A BSc degree in chemical engineering or related field, an excellent command of the English language (spoken and written), a good knowledge of process design and CO2 capturing process and brine desalination technologies.
Preferred Qualification
A BSc degree in chemical engineering or related field
Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
The work duty will involve: Operating and setting many laboratory- pilot scale experimental setups as well as operating many analytical instruments such as ICP (Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry), Elemental and SEM (Scanning electron microscope), Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, Gas Chromatograph, Ion chromatography, X-ray Diffraction and UV Spectrometry.
The applicant should be familiar with the following software and numerical applications: ANSYS, COMSOL, MATLAB, Minitab, HSC, HYSYS, AutoCAD, Origin and Polymath. The applicants should also prepare a written report on monthly basis.
