Employment: Full Time

• Exciting Researcher position is available focusing on "Whey proteins and bioactive peptides; antidiabetic and anti-cancerous properties" as part of food bioactives and nutraceuticals research program.
• As an enthusiastic and innovative researcher, you will join the Food, Nutrition and Health Department and perform research activities in a funded project being carried out in collaboration with multidisciplinary team within UAEU and abroad (Canada and Malaysia). You will explore anti-diabetic and anticancer potential of whey proteins, and the whey bioactive peptides derived from camel and cow whey. In-vitro and in-vivo approach will be used to test the proteins and bioactive peptides. Moreover, development of functional and nutraceutical-based products will be carried out and tested for potential bioactive properties and consumers acceptability.
• Key laboratory techniques required are likely to be spectrophotometry, HPLC, working with cancer cell lines, protein/peptide fractionation, Western blotting, anticancer assays, and animal studies will be a plus.
• The project would suit a candidate with experience in biochemistry, food science, pharmacology, cancer biology with strong lab skills and preferably experience in a cell culture lab technique.

Requirements

The candidate will have to work independently in a laboratory conditions and is expected to have strong manuscript writing skills

Minimum Qualifications:
• Applicant must have a Master's or PhD degree in Food Science/ biochemistry/Nutrition or related discipline from a recognized higher education institution.
• Candidate should demonstrate previous experience in the relevant research through involvement in similar research projects and published articles
