Job Description
The regulation of gene expression in plants, as in other higher eukaryotes, is a subject of daunting complexity. Continually growing body research firmly established the Mediator (MED) as an evolutionarily conserved coregulatory complex that can interact with over 3000 transcription factors (TFs) and as an integral hub converge different signaling pathways before channeling the transcription instructions to the RNA polymerase II machinery. The recent time has experienced a flush of interesting reports on the MED subunits in Arabidopsis thaliana, but the functional study of their counterparts in crop plants deserve greater attention. To this end, our group will use wet-lab and computational biology approaches to identify and characterize relevant

MED genes, with the ultimate aim to be able to understand, engineer and improve plant traits. In addition, another focus of the lab will be understanding of the functional role of long noncoding RNAs in abiotic/biotic stress

PhD with two-year Experience

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced PhD with strong expertise in molecular biology (Plant overexpression, RNAi/ CRISPR-Cas9 vector construction) with experience in Protein-protein interaction (Yeast-two-hybrid analysis, BiFC assay) He/she should have strong troubleshooting skills and a publication record in peer-reviewed
journals. The knowledge in computational biology will be additional asset.
