Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Resident Engineer will be in charge of the day-to-day activities of the construction supervision. He will lead the construction supervision team to ensure that the project will be delivered on time and within budget according to the contract. He will supervise the work of the site engineers, surveyors, inspectors and all other disciplines working on the construction site supervision.

Job Responsibilities:
- Review and maintain knowledge of Terms and Conditions of all contracts for which he is responsible.
- Attend kick-off meetings and subsequent progress meetings with contractors and produce and distribute minutes of meetings.
- Identify and resolve problem areas, particularly those that are likely to give rise to claims.
- Act as the Engineer site representative.
- Coordinate with Client and Contractor.
- May have to manage more than one Contract.
- Ability to mentor and motivate project teams.
- Advise on contractual and construction matters.
- Ensure completeness and validity of contractual requirements.
- Ability to realize project requirements and deliver in accordance with company/client requirements and guidelines.
- Ability to project plan and manage multiple tasks within a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to oversee and manage all aspects of site construction activities including contractual related documentation.
- Identify and prepare appropriate project solutions and options.
- Review and prepare recommendations for contractor submissions such project schedule, resource planning, reports and presentations for client approval.
- Provide support to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Perform duties in accordance with company’s highest quality expectations, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Review the design developed by the contractor and ensure its adherence to the local and federal authorities. And liaise with local authorities as required.
- Review and approval of various contractor’s submittal including, but not necessarily limited to, shop drawings, materials, inspection plans, test results, reports, etc.
- Generally supervise, review, monitor and report on progress.
- Convene and chair regular site meetings.
- Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
- Supervise Contractor’s works to achieve construction in accordance with the Contract Documents.
- Adherence to Parsons SH&E procedure and observe site safety practices.
- Advise on contractor’s resource allocation.
- Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings.
- Must comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.
- Perform any other essential duties that immediate superior may assign from time to time.

Requirements

- Relevant degree from a recognized university and must have thoughtful knowledge and work experience of not less than 10 years in Execution of Landscape and Irrigation works, civil works, building works, infrastructure works & Road works.
- Must be able to take on the spot decisions and be able to deal with all Service Authorities.
- The Resident Engineer must have full and complete knowledge about Landscape and Irrigation works, civil works, road woks & infrastructure in the Emirates of Dubai.
- Familiar with the DM General Conditions of Contract, Quality Assurance, Quantity Surveying, and Project Network Techniques (Primavera P3).
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and Primavera P3.
- Confident in his own ability to control the Works.
- Excellent written and communication skills (English), time management, and supervisory skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, and reports and cost estimates.
- Capacity to take decision.
- Ability to liaise with DM and other infrastructure Authorities.
- Experience in public sector projects is preferable.
- Ability to represent the company in meetings with client representatives and in accordance with company values.
- Portfolio of built work which demonstrates technical capabilities and showing excellent site management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Enthusiasm to contribute/participate in business development and growth.
