About The Role

To support the management in decision-making and planning through analysis and reporting of financial performance, maintaining effective controls over the JV portfolio's financial processes, management information, and budgets of the portfolio in line with the Al Tayer Insignia (ATI) guidelines

To take part in the management of Al Tayer Retail JV Portfolio initiatives in support of its strategic goals and ongoing commitments of the business. To collaborate with the Head of JV Portfolio to safeguard investments, coordinate strategic planning, and supervise process improvements and JV escalations.

What You'll Be Doing

- Assist in driving value extraction for ATG/ATI through portfolio management
- Act as the secondary liaison (to Head of JV portfolio) for managing day-to-day inquiries and engagements with JV partners
- Assist in JV project delivery, including JV conversions and JV greenfield
- Shares responsibility of the "hub" of JV activities and shares accountability for JV activities and deliverables
- Conduct due diligence reviews on potential JV partners, summarizing findings, and proposing risk mitigation strategies to key management.
- Reviews financial performance reports and trends from the joint ventures, highlights any emerging concerns and recommends potential resolutions.
- Supporting and coordinating the establishment of essential legal documentation for JV formation and implementation, such as Shareholders' agreements and Management fees.
- Support in monitoring and administering the execution of JV agreements throughout the JV lifecycle, addressing any potential issues that may arise.
- Assist in monitoring ATG's interests and rights, as the JV partner, are safeguarded throughout the JV lifecycle.

Financial Process Management:

- Evaluating the performance of portfolio companies, including past and current performance of each JV, and setting performance benchmarks.
- Gather, analyze and report JV companies' performance and prepare meaningful dashboards for management.
- Analyze the store/expansion feasibilities to compare actual results with plans and reviewing financial statements including financial reporting
- Analyzing budgeting and forecasting, creating, and updating business plans, and ensuring review compliance, integrity, and accuracy in G&A recharge by JV companies.
- Developing and maintaining financial, valuation, and margin models, as well as supporting finance team in preparing budgets and forecasts for board presentations.
- Prepare commercial analysis and financial modeling for potential JVs, encompassing sensitivity analysis, risk assessments, and input from business stakeholders.
- Support in strategic planning, business plan development, and implementation of value extraction strategies
- Track and manage invoicing and recharges for services provided to JV companies by AT
- Ensure timely preparation of the financial budget and forecast for the portfolio in line with ATI requirements, working in coordination with Corporate Finance and portfolio company departments and other ATI departments



Requirements

About You

Education/Certification and Continued Education

- Bachelor's degree education with relevant professional qualification, such as CFA, CIMA etc.
- MBA

Years of Experience

- 5 to 7 years' experience, with at least 3 years' experience in M&A, transaction advisory, or portfolio management

Knowledge and Skills

- Demonstrable financial and commercial knowledge of JVs and investment projects
- Financial analysis and modelling knowledge and capability
- Communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to lead and facilitate group meetings with senior stakeholders and external vendors
- Demonstrated track record of relationship building with more senior stakeholders
- Proficiency with financial modelling in Excel
- Excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks
- Proficient in English language, Arabic, Italian or French would be an advantage
- Should have good analytical, numerical and research skills
