Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

MIDDLE EAST OFFICE & RISK PRACTICE
McKinsey began serving clients in the Middle East in the mid-90s. In late ’99, we opened our Dubai office to serve clients across the GCC region (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE). More recently we have opened locations in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

We play an increasingly vital role in the region, advising leading private and public institutions in core sectors such as energy, basic materials, chemicals, financial services and banking, telecommunications, education, government, healthcare, and transportation. We work with our clients to develop strategy, build new businesses, enhance organisational capabilities and improve operational performances. We use our global networks to bring the best problem-solvers and resources to ensure distinctive, lasting and substantial improvements in our clients’ performance.

Our global Risk Practice supports clients in many different industries facing the challenges of developing and implementing tailored concepts for risk recognition, measurement, and control. Our clients include top banks, insurance companies, and industrial companies. As our Practice continues its rapid expansion, we are seeking Risk Associates to join our office in Dubai.

Your role:
Like all McKinsey Associates, as a Risk Associate you will be exposed to diverse types of engagement across multiple sectors and functions, which is instrumental in developing a solid management consultant profile. Supporting our Risk Practice, you will be involved in problem solving on a wide range of issues. You will use your expertise in risk management to contribute to the success of our international clients, and work as a member of project teams on-site. You will have the opportunity to develop your own knowledge and to embark on further professional development. As part of our international network, you will also build up contacts among internal and external experts worldwide and work with them on internal projects to develop our risk management know-how. The scope of this role ranges from developing new concepts to implementing proprietary tools.

Requirements

1. You hold a Degree from a respected institution in Economics, Business, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering
2. You have two or three years of experience in risk management, particularly in Basel II, credit risk, or market risk/treasury
3. You possess excellent analytical skills
4. Your written and spoken communication is effective and convincing in English
5. You present yourself with confidence
6. You are creative and enjoy working as part of a team
