Safety Officer (Oil & Gas)

Job description / Role

- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide safety training and education programs to employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies for various work activities and projects.
- Serve as a safety advocate and provide guidance and support to employees for maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

Desired Candidate Profile
- MUST HAVE NEBOSH Certificate
- ADNOC APPROVED/CERTIFIED
- MUST HAVE OIL & GAS Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Professional certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a safety role within the oil and gas industry.
- Solid understanding of industry safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, API, ISO).
- Experience in conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Strong knowledge of emergency response planning and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate safety information to diverse audiences.
