Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Oversee the activity of the Dubai sales and hire desk team ensuring they are suitably skilled, trained, motivated and resourced to deliver the most effective performance possible.

Take efforts to win and maintain sufficient business to deliver, as a minimum, annual sales targets as defined in the Dubai Budget by implementing agreed sales strategies.

Sales to be won at acceptable margins with levels agreed with the Management and manage credit liability through setting proper credit terms and managing timely collections.

Ensure effective customer management by building strong and ongoing business relationships across all accounts at all levels to sustain loyalty and provide highest levels of customer service through the sales and hire desk teams.

Deliver on the goals of the company’s key objectives and any other initiatives presented by the management from time to time. In doing so specific reference is made to objectives defined and relevant to the Sales Managers role as follows:
- Deliver revenues as per the sales plan.
- Ensure complete use of and compliance with sales effectiveness training and effectiveness tool (CRM) by which we can effectively manage/report our sales activity.
- Establish and enforce a target driven sales environment.
- Grow the Dubai business in revenues and customer platform terms.
- Keep abreast with competitor products and pricing, promotions and category/customer share to anticipate any macro/micro market developments and communicate with Country Head; monitor competitors’ activity and implement plans to ensure competitive advantages maintained ahead of the competition.
- Recommend (to the Country Head) gaps in the market or opportunities for rental product offerings that have potential and could be added to the portfolio
- Contribute, impose and maintain the highest levels of Health and Safety awareness and management amongst employees, sub-contractors and sites
- Work in close coordination with the yard/technical team to ensure high levels of plant utilisation.
- Identify the marketing requirements of the sales effort, and make recommendations and contributions to allow the marketing resource deliver required assistance in terms of media, presentations, use of website, representation at appropriate events, communication with customers and prospects
- Always seek ways to improve the business in every regard, making recommendations to the management fully supported by sufficient financial and other data to substantiate the argument.
- Report clearly and concisely on a regular basis in order to ensure the management team is well versed with regard to the business’s issues and the markets in which it is operating.
- Be fully aware of all Corporate policies, standards and procedures and to implement/enforce them

Requirements

- Mechanical or electrical engineering degree or related qualification
- 10 years’ experience within engineering / industrial product sales
- Sales leadership experience – must have managed 5 or more sales engineers
- Set effective daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly objectives to meet targets
- Able to manage team to win current business – existing and new
- Managed internal and external reporting structures
