Job description / Role
Leadership and Administration:
• Provide visionary leadership and strategic planning to guide the school towards its mission, vision, and goals.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems that promote effective school operations, including academic programs, student services, and staff management.
• Supervise and evaluate school staff, including teachers, support staff, and administrators, providing feedback and professional development opportunities.
• Allocate resources, including budgets, personnel, and facilities, to support educational programs and school needs.
• Collaborate with district administrators, school board members, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and educational standards.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, community members, and external organizations to foster community engagement and support.
• Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes high academic standards, student success, and personal growth.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets educational standards, promotes innovation, and addresses the needs of diverse learners.
• Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning practices, providing guidance and support to improve instructional quality.
• Promote professional development opportunities for staff, encouraging continuous learning and the adoption of best educational practices.
• Support the integration of technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Analyse student performance data and utilize assessment results to inform instructional strategies and school improvement initiatives.
Student Support and Discipline:
• Create a safe and supportive school environment that fosters student well-being, social-emotional development, and positive behaviour.
• Develop and implement programs and initiatives that address student needs, such as academic support, counselling services, and extracurricular activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, counsellors, and support staff to address student discipline issues promptly and appropriately, following established policies and procedures.
• Promote a positive and respectful school climate through proactive measures, conflict resolution strategies, and character education initiatives.
Communication and Community Engagement:
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members to provide updates, share information, and promote school initiatives.
• Collaborate with parents and families to support student learning and engagement, involving them in decision-making processes and fostering open lines of communication.
• Represent the school in community events, meetings, and partnerships, advocating for the school's interests and building positive relationships.
• Engage stakeholders in school improvement efforts, seeking input, feedback, and support to enhance educational programs and services.
• Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices through professional development activities, conferences, and networking opportunities.
• Uphold ethical standards and legal requirements in all aspects of school administration and decision-making.
• Engage in professional organizations, educational networks, and relevant committees to stay connected to the broader educational community.
• Demonstrate leadership by modeling professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
• Graduate in any discipline (preferably in Education)
• At least 5 years of experience as a school principal.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent personnel management skills.
• Nationality Preference: Westerner
