Job description / Role

Senior Accountant

This role is responsible for day to day updating of books of accounts and carrying out monthly financial procedures and reporting in line with group accounting policies and guidelines. In coordination with the contracts, execution and commercial teams, process and track documentary credit and collections documents ensuring seamless flow of imports and exports, while at the same time acting as financial partners to the business.

Financial Records

• Update financial records with the relevant transactions as they happen as frequently as is required and as per company policies and guidelines and international Financial Reporting Standards.

Internal Controls

• Establish internal controls and procedures to protect the assets of the company and continuously update them to ensure they remain relevant and that they are in line with the changing control universe.

Reconciliations and Accruals

• Prepare monthly reconciliations for all relevant balance sheet (AR, AP, CM and intercompany) and P&L and accounts and identify and accrue for all unpaid expenses.

Internal and External Audits

• Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure the annual audit assignments are completed on time and audit reports and management letters issued and ensure those audit recommendations are given appropriate attention.
Monthly Informing
• Prepare, manage and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual reports to highlight the financial performance of the organization

Salary:
AED 10,000 to 14,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

• Identify and develop solutions to queries and problems that may arise so that action can be taken to reduce the impact on the business.

Decision Support

• Develop standard reports and dashboard that provide insight to Management on financial performance highlighting key performance drivers.

Banking Operations

Oversee the company’s daily banking operations, ensuring timely and efficient execution of trade finance activities.
To control the accounting Section within the company and undertake improvement and developments to be made for the benefit of the financial performance of the organization. Treat business units as customers, and to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures as well as organizational business plans.

Decisions Expected

• Authority to make logical decisions that affect the everyday accounting operations and finances with approval from the Finance Manager. All major decisions to be reported to the Finance Manager. Complex decisions to be made in consultation with Finance Manager only
