The Challenge

The objective of Mubadala' s Financial Planning & Business Performance (FP&BP) team is to provide senior leadership with an effective performance management platform for timely, actionable results, financial plans, budgets and forecasts. This is achieved through the linkage of operational cause to financial effect and the creation of shareholder value.

As an active member of the FP&BP team, you will compile and provide analysis on group level financial information. This is a great opportunity to work in partnership with our 4 industry platforms and support the team to drive initiatives and business strategies though the delivery of insightful financial analysis while gaining exposure to 10 different industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of P&L, Cash & Funding and Balance Sheet reporting
- Provide insightful analysis on variances to budget, prior period and prior year performances (P&L, Cash & Funding & Balance Sheet)
- Identify & track key metrics through a good understanding of the business drivers and objectives, partnering with finance and business leaders. Recommend actions where appropriate.
- Liaise with COE & business to develop estimates, operating plans/forecasts.
- Contribute to improving efficiencies and performance as well as providing quality financial information.
- Understand the Risks and Opportunities affecting the business
- Develop reporting timetables, templates, analysis tools and communicate to wider BU finance teams accordingly
- Get involved in with broader finance functions on corporate level deliverables including project financing, treasury…
- Maintain, develop and improve financial processes by coordinating between management reporting and system teams: Finance reporting tools, Management reporting tools, budgeting and estimating processes
- Develop and give presentations that synthesize a large amount of information into a concise format while confidently responding to all questions

Requirements

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

- Masters' degree in Business Administration
- A minimum of eight years of financial work experience including developing forecasts, budgets and finance reviews
- Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, Ability to see the "big picture" while providing in depth analysis
- Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels, functions and units, able to clearly communicate complex financial information in a easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to influence across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position
- Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and best practices
- Adaptable, flexible and ability to cope with unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
- Strong understanding of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Hyperion Planning
- Advanced Excel knowledge in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, and Macros)
- Ability to work to strict deadlines & manage multiple deliverables
- Ensure high quality of work & data integrity
- Exposure to IFRS
- Presenting to large groups
