Employment: Full Time

In this exciting and challenging role, you will be expected to implement policies and procedures which provides instructions to subordinates, and contributes to inbound logistic policies and departmental procedures.

The successful candidate will be in charge of inbound shipments and logistic operations, optimal route selection for freight for all the raw materials, scheduling based on production forecasts, cost improvement initiatives, strong vendor relationships, coordination, market analysis, statistical reports, and finally compliance for safety and quality policies.

We are looking for a Senior Associate in Inbound Logistics to have a range of key responsibilities, with the job role of effectively implementing an annual plan to handle freight forwards and transportation for raw materials. The candidate will be expected to conduct negotiations with freight companies and get the best deals to receive raw materials on time, ensure their safe transportation and low delivery costs.

• Purchase raw materials such as coke, liquid pitch, and purchased anodes for plant operations
• Manage vessel nomination and ensure supplier’s punctuality based on forecasted requirement and safety stock levels
• Supports the Manager, Procurement & Logistics in the commercial and operational activities to achieve the target budget set for the raw materials

Requirements

• Monitors results vs. budget
• Controls and supports senior staff in carrying out routine inbound shipping functions such as performance reliability
• Assists in negotiation of shipping contract’s commercial terms
• Monitors the performance of carriers and acts as the company’s representative
• Carries out the planning and scheduling of freight for all raw materials to ensure timely supply
• Cost improvement initiatives and expense reduction goals, to overall ensure supply contracts loading conditions meet shipping schedules.
• Building relationships with key vendors
• Coordinate with local port authorities and vendor negotiations of optimal shipping rates
• Assists the Manager in the regular market surveys to source shipping contracts and pricing of key raw materials, secure quality approvals and negotiate contracts
• Maintains reports to monitor freight market
• Works with IT department in utilising SAP tools for planning and scheduling of shipments inbound logistic activities for all required materials
• Has sound authority to negotiate with shipping lines on contractual terms, price and performance

Salary 28,000 AED + bonus, health-care, medical insurance.
