A leading multinational semi- government organisation currently has a new opportunity for a Senior Business Development Manager based in Dubai, with travel to the GCC region and the UK required. Our client forms part of the Department for Economy in the UK and supports the growth of the economy in the UK region through the development of its local and international businesses to enable prosperity. With regional offices in Jeddah, Doha and Dubai they work closely with all clients, local businesses, associations and stakeholders such as the Department of Trade, The Chambers of Commerce and the British Council to promote relationships, trade and economic growth between the UK region and the Middle East.
The Senior Business Development Manager will have a strong focus on supply chain opportunities as the majority of businesses are SMEs who require some nurturing of the benefits of doing business in the UAE and wider ME region. You will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, potential customers, agents and distributors for clients through your market knowledge and research and be constantly seeking out new development opportunities. Whilst developing relationships you will also maintain a client database and provide reports on key sectors relevant to the economic conditions of the UK region specifically within interiors and design, hotel supply chain, food and beverage and consumer goods industries. Working alongside an extensive range of senior business leaders, governmental officials, business associations and colleagues linked to the other office locations you will be a natural relationship builder and a strong communicator with a fantastic network of clients.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Regional Manager to further develop relevant opportunities and to quantify research and findings. The role of the Senior Business Development Manager is extremely client driven and applicants are expected to have relevant experience of maintaining professional relationships, and handling these with integrity and sensitivity.
Requirements
The requirements for this role are for candidates to hold a relevant business studies degree and possess a passport which allows for easy travel across the region and to the UK. Regional business development experience of at least 5 years within the UAE and GCC region is mandatory as is a fluent command of the English language. Candidates must possess tenacity and strong interpersonal skills and be willing to support others within the wider team when necessary. A UAE driving license and your own vehicle is also mandatory for all candidates applying for tis vacancy.
