Senior Cloud Architect

Job description / Role

Cloud Strategy Development:
• Define and develop the organization's cloud strategy, including cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into cloud solutions.
• Architect and design cloud infrastructure solutions that are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective, using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and best practices in cloud architecture.

Cloud Infrastructure Management:
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure solutions, including Azure & AWS Cloud Platforms.
• Monitor and maintain the availability, performance, and security of cloud resources.
• Implement best practices for cloud resource optimization and cost control.
• Lead cloud migration projects, assisting in moving on-premises applications and workloads to the cloud.
• Implement integration solutions between on-premises and cloud environments.

Security and Compliance:
• Implement security best practices and compliance standards to protect cloud resources and data.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct regular security audits and assessments.
• Oversee identity and access management (IAM) policies.

Automation and Scripting:
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline cloud operations.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:
• Establish and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for cloud-based systems.
• Test and execute disaster recovery plans when necessary.

Collaboration and Documentation:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud resources into existing systems.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud configurations and procedures.
• Provide training to IT team members on best practices.

Performance Monitoring:
• Set up and configure monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and address performance issues.
• Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization.
• Recommend cost-saving measures and oversee budget management.

Vendor and Technology Evaluation:
• Assess and evaluate cloud service providers, technology solutions, and vendors to ensure they align with the organization's needs and objectives.
• Conduct research and stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to define criteria for vendor and technology selection.
• Prepare and present evaluation reports and recommendations to senior management.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improvement in cloud services and technologies.

• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Architect role
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure with relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
• Proficiency in other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of Azure OpenAI for AI and machine learning solutions.
• Solid understanding of network, storage, and database technologies in a cloud environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
