Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Wood is currently looking for a Senior Corrosion Engineer to join our team Asset Integrity Team. This position is based in Abu Dhabi office and will report directly to the Integrity Manager of the Asset Integrity Solutions service line.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing technical support in project's related tasks; RBI and Corrosion Inspection Manuals for their operating assets and new projects
- The responsibility to mentor and coach the graduate engineers
- Development of corrosion monitoring philosophies and strategies
- Materials and corrosion studies (including coating selection) and specifications
- Developing piping inspection strategies and identification of corrosion monitoring locations
- Development of corrosion management strategies and corrosion manuals
- Performing corrosion-rate calculations, corrosion modelling and contribute to fitness for purpose studies
- Integrity assessment of cathodic protection systems
- Undertaking Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment studies
- Assisting in the training and development of other team members
- Liaising with clients to develop discrete work scopes and build professional working relationship
- Responsible for the ongoing Corrosion Management Programmes and RBI work technical assurance
- Will be shadowing the Materials & Corrosion Lead (Team Lead) for the business in support of the growth and technical assurance delivery
- Carry out Corrosion assessment on pipelines and equipment, preferable software experience (e.g Wood ECE model)
- Review of Corrosion assessment reports, which may include ILI reports, Fitness for Purpose (FFP) / Recommendations for Repair Reports (RRR), ILI raw data, Direct Assessment reports etc. as a primary input
- Liaise with the Wood global offices for support where needed but expected convergence with Wood Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- Sites Visits outside offices as & when required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering degree from a recognised university or college (Materials / Metallurgy / Chemistry/ Chemical / Mechanical) (Essential)
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a role which has had a primary technical function of providing corrosion engineering services in the oil and gas petrochemical industries
- Good soft skills; primarily presentation skills, communication and collaboration with the global offices.
- The candidate may be required to work from the client's office sometimes per project demand
- Corrosion Management Plans for pipelines and assets
- Carry out Corrosion Risk Assessment, both qualitatively and quantitatively
- Carry out material selection reviews
- Familiar with the use of API 580 and 81 codes and familarisation with software is a plus
- NACE certification is preferable

Preference:
- Carrying working experience of both corrosion engineering/material selection and asset integrity assessment
- Site/field experience
- Experienced with Middle East clients
- PMC Experience/ Exposure to PMC projects
- NACE certification
