Job description / Role
Our client an international MEP Consultancy requires a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Buildings team in their Dubai office.
Whilst the role is Dubai based, due to project requirements the first 6 months will be spent on secondment working in their Qatar office.
Due to visa restrictions the suitable individual must be a UK passport holder.
Previous middle east experience is desirable but not essential.
This is a technically challenging role and the suitable individual must have extensive technical knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities will include.:
• Lead projects from an electrical perspective and be part of a multidiscipline team.
• Provide solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Provide support to fee and capital budget proposals as required.
• Monitor/Mentor electrical engineering staff at junior levels
• Check other electrical engineers work for accuracy and quality
• Interface with clients, vendor’s representatives and project field personnel.
• Attend and participate in client meetings.
• Direct and/or participate in project site visits to monitor and review aelectrical installations.
Requirements
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
• Minimum 10 - 15 years post graduation experience in Electrical Building Services Design
• Chartered or working towards this status
• Demonstrable advanced technical knowledge & experience in the complete suite of electrical engineering design services.
• This shall include MV and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting & emergency lighting, small power, voice / data, cable containment, fire alarm, security, lightning protection, earthing & bonding
• Advanced knowledge of all applicable electrical engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
