Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Wood is presently looking to hire a Senior Electrical Designer for our Engineering team in Abu Dhabi. Below are more details about the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist lead designer in design activities by timely developing the drawings as per project specific standards
- Design and mark - up drawings as appropriate (e.g. Single Line Diagrams, substation layouts, cable routing, lighting, earthing etc.) to a suitable level of detail
- Ensure design quality, technical content and technical accuracy of electrical drawings on assigned projects
- Check and approve electrical drawings where he / she is authorised to sign
- Comment on other discipline documents
- Comment on supplier documents where applicable
- Attends plot plan and model reviews
- Ability to provide input data for preparing prepare Bill of Materials, cable schedules and / or termination schedules
- Expertise in SPEL, PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D Modeling and AUTO CAD Drafting.
- Keep informed of the latest developments in electrical software and other packages relevant to the electrical design discipline
- Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management.
- Participate in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned and close-out
- Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects
- Should be able to add value plus/ optimization ideas.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of design tools - AutoCAD / Micro station,
- SPEL, PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D Modeling software experience
- Ability to report in in English, both verbal & in writing.
- Proactive attitude
- 10+Years' experience in electrical design with minimum 7+ Years of experience in Oil & Gas engineering consultancy
