Senior Engineer - Metocean and Marine Services

Job description / Role

Maban Marine Services is looking for an experienced professional in the field of Metocean surveys and technologies to review, direct, and execute all technical matters pertaining to oceanic/bathymetric surveys as well as water quality monitoring surveys, wave patterns and current direction studies, and other relevant discipline of marine sciences and operational oceanography.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have the following competencies:
• Significant experience in the field of marine technology both from the engineering and end-user perspective.
• Keen understanding of marine sciences and operational oceanography.
• Experience in Bathymetric Surveys, Dye and Drogue Surveys, ADCP and water quality monitoring surveys.
• Understanding of technologies and methodologies relevant to study of Wave pattern, current directions and strength, tide/water level measurements.
• Familiarity with water quality measurement techniques and methodologies (in terms of marine pollutants and harmful substances), as well as wind speed measurements and directions.
• Comfortable with Data Web Portals that collect and display statistical data pertaining to abovementioned points.

Candidate's background:
• Relevant education degree in Metocean services, marine sciences, and oceanography.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Marine Services and Oceanography.
• Intimate knowledge of all software applications related to above mentioned survey methodologies and studies.
• Superior command over written and spoken English. Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to liaise with and report to higher management and shareholders.
