About the Job
- Performs Process Engineering duties in the plant to serve as the centralized source of expertise while ensuring compliance with Company strategies commitments and goals. Includes monitoring performance of plants and facilities, preparing daily performance summary and recommending corrective actions to deal with abnormalities.
- Provide complete range of Technical Support to Operations through discipline expertise, fully dedicated in line with the Technical Authority system. This is to ensure agility in Technical decisions, Quality assurance and seamless follow-up of all Technical requirements for continued, sustained, efficient and safe operations of ADNOC Refining Facilities while ensuring 100% HSE Compliance.
- Ensure Continuous Improvement and Profitability growth of ADNOC Refining assets by initiating and championing operational initiatives, supporting Asset Development on Long Term perspective, and driving applications of new Process Technology in close coordination with AR Research Centre.

Key Accountabilities
- Ensures technical support for assigned units and maintain maximum unit production, plant utilization and the production of quality products as per Company specifications while ensuring Profitability and 100 % HSE.
- Collects plant production and operating data, evaluates unit efficiencies by relating chemical and energy consumption to plant throughput and prepares daily performance summaries to monitor plant performance.
- Identifies potential problems, prepares reports along with recommendations for appropriate actions and submits to Supervisor for review.
- Troubleshooting/Debottlenecking exercise of major process and reliability related issues in assigned process units in close co-ordination with Licensor & other SME's
- Catalyst Management - Responsible for Techno-Economic Evaluation, conducting trial of catalyst & various adsorbents.
- Monitors catalyst deactivation rates and evaluates the cycle length. Monitor the plans for catalyst/ process consumables replacement.
- Execution and evaluation of plant Test Runs and special process improvement studies.
- Perform simulation to learn most process efficient range of operating variables & vectors to update LP models.
- Evaluate existing process technologies to improve performance and arrange feasibility studies aimed at adopting new technologies/process improvement program.
- Planning capital/operating budgets to enhance reliability, availability and performance of plants and processes.
- Participates in audits and benchmarking studies to improve competitiveness and profitability of the assigned units as and when required.
- Participate (as required) in the preliminary investigation and studies of incidents, failures or deficiencies to identify the root causes and provide recommendation of remedial actions to avoid recurrence.
- Participates and/or supervises the Section's participation in review of Data sheets, Technical documents, Design Basis, PFD,P&ID, HAZOP etc. during Pre-FEED,FEED and EPC Stage of new Projects as and when required.
- Provide on-site process engineering consultation during construction, pre-commissioning & commissioning stage of projects
- Act as Technical Authority for specific process technology in the Company.
- Provides mediation in the event of technical dispute between conflicting parties.
- Provides Process Engineering expertise for the development and authorization of Key Documents (Philosophies, Policies, Design Basis) for all project works covering Assets, Major Projects, Brownfield Projects and New field projects to ensure consistency and efficacy.
- Support implementation of 100% HSE culture and comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC HSE Standards
- Support, develops and reviews the Process engineering standards, codes of practice and technical specifications to ensure that they are in line with prevailing legislation, current best practice and reflect lessons learnt from past activities.
- Provide Process Engineering support for the Plant's Alarm Management System and for effective utilization of Advanced Process Control (APC).

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum or Process Engineering, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience, preferably in the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical or Fertilizer Industry, Including 4 years of experience in Refinery Technical services (Process Engineering) related to specific technology.
- Excellent experience in all relevant Technical Services/Process engineering activities such as Process Design Basis, Process Simulation, Process Troubleshooting, Heat & Material balance, PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment and Instrument Process Datasheets, Hydraulic calculations etc.
- Excellent knowledge of various process engineering software such as HYSYS, HTRI, PI, LIMS etc.
- Working knowledge and application process hazard analysis (HAZOP, HAZID).
- Technical ability in understanding the codes and standards.
- Data analysis and report writing skills, sound problem solving and decision-making skills.
